SHANGHAI- Source said that, OMD Shanghai(浩腾媒体) has been tapped by Hershey's(好时) China as its media agency, after a competitive review which included at least Universal McCann(优势麦肯).
The choc-maker is still somewhat weak in China chocolate market, which dominated by Mars(Dove), Ferrero, Cadbury and local player Leconte(金帝)-the 4 brands' total market share is more than 70%.
As statistics showed that, China's choc market has hit by annual sales volume of RMB 35 billion, and has been grown to the world's No.2 choc market, just followed US. The report also forecast Chocolate market will grow 8.8% per year in next 5 years, far higher than 2-3% globally.
In later 2008, Hershey's opened its first brand experience outlet out of US in Shanghai.
